About 29 Acres
29 Acres is an innovative housing development for adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) designed to elevate quality of life by creating an environment that results in greater joy, self-fulfillment and independence.
Located in Cross Roads, TX, just 30 minutes north of Dallas, the property is comprised of 29 acres of gently-rolling, heavily-wooded terrain with numerous meadows and fields. We are close to two major lakes that will be used in our therapeutic recreation program and minutes away from over 100 miles of walking and biking trails at two large state parks. We are also within minutes of two major universities and several major cities in north Dallas, allowing a clear path for our residents to be connected to their local communities.
The 29 Acres programming will be evidence-based and customized for each resident to ensure tangible growth in the areas of career readiness/employment and independent living, while prioritizing relationship building, and good health and emotional well-being.
As part of our commitment to continuously improve programming, we will hold ourselves accountable to outcomes, including quality of life indicators.
By partnering with UNT and other universities and organizations, 29 Acres will serve as a training site for service providers and actively pursue research opportunities
Our neuro-diverse housing community will be built for safety and security. We will create an environment that leads to measurable growth in the areas of leisure and inter-personal relationships and health and fitness as well as feature opportunities to advance independent living.
The homes at 29 Acres can be a first home or permanent home depending on our residents’ needs and their preferences for living.Learn More
