Be Mine 29 Auction Benefit
February 8 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
29 Acres is a response to the tremendous need in our North Texas community for safe housing and ongoing support and programming for adults with autism. Autism now affects almost 2% of our population and yet fewer than 5% of individuals living with autism have full time employment and less than 20% live independently. Most adults with autism live with their aging parents and other family members and live sedentary and lonely lives with few opportunities to work, be active or make friends. 29 Acres, a nonprofit organization, is a future supportive living community in Crossroads, TX (30 minutes north of Dallas) where 60 adults with autism and other neuro-diversities will live and be supported enabling them to build relationships and feel value, success and happiness in their lives. We are currently in construction on our first 8 homes and our community center and our first residents will move in the summer of 2020! We have already started our Residential Transition Academy at four rental homes in the nearby community of Little Elm, and our program Enrich 29 is taking place in Denton and is a system of support services designed for the full spectrum of autism to create opportunity and shatter expectations. We also have a weekly social group, 29 Friends, for teens and young adults in North Texas.
On Saturday, February 8, 2020, 29 Acres will host our 2nd annual fundraising event, Be Mine 29, to raise funds for our permanent supported housing community and transportation costs for our programs serving young adults with ASD. We are writing to you today to ask for a donation of goods or services for our auction to raise funds for our programs serving young adults with autism. In recognition for your donation, you will be recognized in the following ways:
- In the event program
- On our website and through our social media
An auction donation form is included with this letter. Please don’t hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or 214-707-6462 if you have questions or need more information.
