The Transition Academy is best suited for young adults diagnosed with high-functioning autism who need additional time and training before launching into adult life. Your successful transition to independent living and competitive employment is our goal. Applicants must be motivated toward independence, willing to participate in all aspects of the program, and eager to learn new skills. We have a limited amount of space for students in the incoming class. Candidates meeting qualifications and the order of complete applications received will prioritize admission.
Please note throughout the process additional evaluation, information or references may be requested. This to is to make sure this program is the best fit for both parties and to make sure we can meet your individual needs.
Application, Documents and Fee
The applicant and their support team will complete the 3 part online application sent via email, submit any additional required documents and submit the non-refundable Application Fee of $300.
Once all the documentation has been received and reviewed and it appears to be a good fit, we will contact you to arrange an interview. The interview takes about 1.5 hours.
A second interview may be required to confirm that the applicant is still interested, understands program rules and that participation in the program represents the best fit for both parties.
Applicants will be offered a place in our incoming class following a successful compilation of the application process. If the students accepts they will receive a welcome packet to include a service agreement. If you are not accepted into The Transition Academy additional programming or support services recommendations will be offered.
